Nicholas Barasch was born on May 9, 1998, in New York City, New York, the son of Douglas Samuel Barasch and Lynne Robyn. He grew up alongside his sister, Katie Barasch.
He attended the Professional Children’s School in New York City. He began appearing professionally on Broadway at age 10.
Career
Nicholas Barasch began performing professionally at a young age and made his Broadway debut in the 2009 revival of West Side Story, playing Kiddo at age 10.
He also recorded “Somewhere” for the production’s Grammy Award-winning cast album. In 2012, he appeared in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, originating the roles of Deputy and Master Nick Cricker.
His major Broadway breakthrough came in 2016 when he portrayed Arpad Laszlo in the revival of She Loves Me.
His performance earned him the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theatre, as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations.
He later played Orpheus in the North American touring production of Hadestown from 2021 to 2022.
Nicholas Barasch has also worked extensively in television and film. His screen credits include How to Make It in America, Bull, The Backyardigans, Low Tide, Mr. Student Body President, June, and Riverdale, where he portrayed Julian Blossom during the show’s seventh and final season.
