Career
Pat Mastroianni entered acting as a teenager after hearing an announcement at his school about auditions for Degrassi Junior High. At 14, he was selected to play Joey Jeremiah, a role that became his defining character.
He continued as Joey in Degrassi Junior High from 1987 to 1989 and Degrassi High from 1989 to 1991.
His performance earned him a Gemini Award in 1988 for Best Continuing Actor in a Supporting Role.
After Degrassi High ended, Pat Mastroianni worked in restaurants and his father’s construction business while continuing to pursue acting.
He appeared in Canadian productions including Liberty Street, Street Legal, War of the Worlds, and Music Works. He later appeared in the 1998 film Godzilla.
Pat Mastroianni returned to the Degrassi universe in 2001 for Degrassi: The Next Generation, reprising Joey Jeremiah as an adult.
