The Edo-born actor is a scriptwriter, screenwriter, film director, and producer. 

Paul Adams has had a successful run in the Journalism industry, where he worked as an Illustrator for leading magazines and newspapers in the country.

Early Life

Paul Adams was born three years before Nigeria’s independence. He was birthed into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adams on the 28th of January 1957. He was born in Benin City and is an indigene of Edo State. 

Paul Adams is an Edo man who speaks his local dialect fluently. He is from a middle-class family and was raised in the Christian faith by his parents. As a young bot, he resided in a middle-class neighborhood in Benin City. 

His acting journey began during childhood when he and his classmates were taken to the then Nigerian Television Service (now Nigerian Television Authority) to act on kiddies’ plays. He also joined drama groups in his secondary school and university. 

Although he was born and bred in Edo State, Paul Adams moved to Lagos in his youth to pursue higher education. After completing his studies at a higher institution in Lagos, he took up residence in the Mainland part of Lagos. 

Education

Paul Adams underwent elementary and secondary education at leading public-run schools in Edo State. 

He graduated from high school with good grades in his WAEC. After that, he decided to pursue higher education and secured admission into an institution in southwestern Nigeria. 

Paul Adams is an alumnus of Yaba College Of Technology, Lagos. He studied Graphics Design at the institution. 

Career

Although Paul Adams had acted in kiddie plays as a child, it was until he graduated from a higher institution that he joined the acting industry. He began to take acting seriously after starring in a Church Drama, Jesus The Light Of The World. Ime James directed the drama. His friend and fellow actor, Patrick Doyle, attended the event. 

Patrick Doyle commended his performance and linked him up with filmmaker Zeb Ejiro. He soon secured a role in Zeb Ejiro‘s hit series, Ripples. Due to His success in Ripples, he landed another role in a TV series titled Checkmate. Amaka Igwe produced the popular series. After that, he appeared in several soap operas and Nollywood films. 

Paul Adams has also had a successful career in the journalism industry. He began his journalism carer by working as an Illustrator with Newswatch Magazine. He later left Newswatch and worked with a series of news magazines before landing a role in Vanguard Newspaper. Before retiring, he worked with the Vanguard as its Cartoon Editor for ten years. After leaving journalism, he produced his first film titled Shackles in 1999. He wrote the script for the movie. He also produced a drama series, Lifestyle, which aired on Africa Magic in 2007.

In 2014, Paul Adams produced a 13-episode series titled NERSA WATCH. It is an environmental advocacy production for the National Environmental Standard and Regulations Enforcement Agency.
