Rey Valentin was born on February 3, 1979, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He developed an interest in acting at the age of 14 and began working alongside theatre mentor Donna Sue De Guzman, creating original productions in his hometown.
Valentin later attended the State University of New York at Purchase, where he trained at the Purchase Acting Conservatory under acting teacher Joan Potter.
After graduating, he became involved in the New York theatre community and performed in productions including Everything Will Be Different and Much Ado About Nothing.
