Stephen Kunken was born on 30 April 1971 in Brooklyn, New York, United States, to Mr. and Mrs. Kunken. His father worked as a dentist and his mother was a former grade school teacher.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in 1993 before attending the Juilliard School’s Graduate Acting Program as a member of Drama Division Group 26 (1993–1997), where he received the John Houseman Prize and the Pearl and Rolands Grant. He is of Jewish heritage and his religion is Judaism.
Career
Stephen Kunken built a strong foundation in theater after graduating from Juilliard. He made his Broadway debut as a replacement in Proof and went on to appear in productions including Festen, Frost/Nixon (earning Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Award nominations), Tom Stoppard’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, High opposite Kathleen Turner, and The Columnist.
