Career

Following this, she secured a series of small parts in films and television, including a bit part as a psychiatric patient in the Oscar-winning As Good as It Gets (1997) and a brief stint on Silk Stalkings.

Her career gained momentum when she landed a leading role as Lt. Annalisa “Stinger” Lindstrom in the first season of the syndicated naval drama Pensacola: Wings of Gold (1997–1998), followed by a memorable two-episode arc on the cult series Xena: Warrior Princess.

Morris‘s career was propelled to new heights after her performance as a federal agent in Rod Lurie’s The Contender (2000) caught the attention of director Steven Spielberg. He cast her in two consecutive projects: A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), though her scenes were ultimately cut, and the blockbuster Minority Report (2002), where she portrayed the tormented wife of Tom Cruise‘s character.

This role opened doors to high-profile projects, including Paycheck (2003) and Mindhunters (2004). However, her most defining role came when she was cast as Detective Lilly Rush in the CBS procedural Cold Case (2003–2010), a part that would make her a household name for seven seasons.
