Kemi Afolabi, a Nigerian actress, was born on April 8, 1980, in the vibrant city of Lagos. However, her roots can be traced back to Ogun State, located in the southwestern region of Nigeria. 

Being the eldest child in her family, Kemi has two younger siblings whose details remain unknown. Unfortunately, there is a lack of information regarding her brothers or sisters that can be accessed now. Kemi called her mother Iya Anota.  

Kemi Afolabi‘s educational journey began at Tunwase Nursery & Primary School, a school located in Lagos state, Nigeria. While portraying a character in this theatrical drama, Kemi Afolabi significantly chose to divert her focus from pursuing a career in law and instead dedicated herself wholeheartedly to acting.

After her triumphant performance in the Yoruba movie Obirin, she eagerly embraced another opportunity to showcase her talent in Alagba. Surprisingly, she took a break from her acting career shortly after this project. Speculations suggest that this hiatus may have been a deliberate choice to prioritize her marriage and domestic life.

After her comeback in 2013, Kemi Afolabi committed herself to the world of cinema. While she did manage to secure a few roles in English-speaking films, it was evident that she found tremendous success in Yoruba productions. This led her to venture into scriptwriting and accept various movie offers. She has impressively acted in over 140 Yoruba films, including Oreke Mulero and Omo Pupa.
