She sprang to prominence for playing Mia Jones in the wildly popular teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation for six years.

The talented media personality Nina Dobrev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on January 9, 1989. Her father, Kamen Dobrev, worked as a computer specialist, and her mother, Michaela Constantine, was an artist. 

Nina has an older brother named Alexander Dobrev. When she was two, her family moved to Canada and settled in Scarborough, Toronto. 

Nina Dobrev spent her childhood there and attended J. B. Tyrrell Sr. Public School and Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts. At age 10, Nina and her mother moved back to Bulgaria for two years.
