Raima Sen was born on November 7, 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Bharat Dev Varma and actress Moon Moon Sen.
Her father belonged to the royal family of Tripura, while her mother is the daughter of legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen. Raima grew up alongside her younger sister, actress Riya Sen.
She belongs to a distinguished Bengali family whose history includes the royal families of Tripura and Cooch Behar. Her maternal grandmother, Suchitra Sen, became one of the most celebrated actresses in Bengali cinema.
Raima attended Loreto House School in Kolkata. She later entered the entertainment industry and began acting professionally in the late 1990s.
