The film received multiple Filipino award nominations, including nominations for Rekhi’s direction and screenplay, while its performers won major acting honours.
He later directed the documentary The Reunited States, exploring political division and efforts to bridge social differences.
More recently, Rekhi has continued developing documentary and narrative projects. His 2026 documentary Breaking the Code examines the life and career of his father, Kanwal Rekhi, and premiered as an Opening Gala selection at CAAMFest 2026.
