Hunter Foster was born on June 25, 1969, in Lumberton, North Carolina, to parents Bob Foster and Helen Foster. He is the older brother of actress Sutton Foster.
The family moved frequently because his father worked as a regional car salesman for General Motors, living in places including Statesboro, Augusta, and Athens, Georgia.
