Hannah Minghella was born on March 24, 1979, in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, England. She is the daughter of filmmaker Anthony Minghella and Hong Kong-born choreographer Carolyn Choa. Her father was of Italian descent, while her mother had Chinese and other Asian and European ancestry.
