Michelle Chong (born April 22, 1977) is a multifaceted Singaporean film, TV, and digital content producer, director, writer, and actress. She has worked on several successful projects in her native Singapore and internationally.

She is best known for her work on the hit comedy film, The Noose, which was a box-office success in Singapore and around the world. She has also directed and produced several other successful films, including Already Famous.

In addition to her work in film, Michelle Chong has also had a successful career in television. She has produced and directed several popular Variety TV shows, including Happy Rules and Open Sesame. She has also written and directed several digital short films.

Early Life & Education

Michelle Chong was born on April 22nd, 1977, in Singapore. Her father is of Chinese ancestry. Her Chinese Hanyu Pinyin is Zhuāng mǐ xuě. 

She attended CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School, Dunman High School, and Victoria Junior College, where she studied drama. Her drama teacher recommended her for a year at Bates College, a prestigious liberal arts college in Maine, USA. She went on to study at the National University of Singapore.

Michelle Chong comes from a family of three. She has two sisters named Christina Chong and Shui Chong. Her mother is relatively unknown now, while her father is Steven Papa Chong.

Michelle Chong is currently not married and possibly single. She is also not a mother. From the look of things, she prefers to stay single and childless.

In 2002 and 2003, FHM readers voted her as one of the world’s top 30 sexiest women. Michelle Chong won the Elle Actress of the Year Award in 2008 and the Asian Television Awards’ (ATV) Best Comedy Performance Award in 2008 for her portrayal of Beh Li Choo, a butcher, in the popular Peranakan comedy-drama Sayang Sayang.

Michelle Chong is also well-known for portraying Leticia Bongnino, a celebrity maid. Bongnino was created as a one-off character for a single episode. However, she became so popular with viewers that she became a recurring character.
