Early life and education
AKASA was born on April 2, 1994, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Born to Arvinder Singh and Ameeta Singh, she grew up in a musical household.
She is Indian, and her brother, Aasa Singh, is also a singer and musician. She follows Sikhism. Akasa attended Mithibai College in Mumbai, where she participated in youth festivals involving singing, dancing, and anchoring.

AKASA began pursuing music professionally at 17, when family friend Mika Singh brought her into his band. She later competed on India’s Raw Star in 2014, where Himesh Reshammiya mentored her.
Her Bollywood playback debut arrived in 2016 through “Kheech Meri Photo” from Sanam Teri Kasam, establishing her as a new voice in Hindi film music.
In 2017, she collaborated with Ricky Martin on “Vente Pa’ Ca”, an opportunity that became an important international milestone.
