Early Life and Education
Brian Littrell was born on February 20, 1975, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Harold Baker Littrell Jr. and Jacqueline “Jackie” Rhea Fox.
He grew up alongside his older brother, Harold Baker Littrell III, who also pursued entertainment as a singer and actor. Brian is also the cousin of Kevin Richardson, his future Backstreet Boys bandmate.
Raised in a Baptist Christian family, Littrell began singing at Porter Memorial Baptist Church and performed his first solo at seven years old.
As a teenager, he sang at weddings after encouragement from his choir teacher, Barry Turner, and participated in school productions, including Grease. He attended Tates Creek High School in Lexington and graduated in 1993.

Brian Littrell joined the Backstreet Boys in 1993 after his cousin Kevin Richardson invited him to audition for the newly forming group in Orlando.
He joined Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson, beginning a career that would make the group one of the world’s most successful vocal acts.
