He comes from a humble background, as his father, Sohan Singh Sandhu, worked as a driver, and his mother, Gurmeet Kaur, whose work remains undisclosed to the media, Garry Sandhu grew up with one older brother. 

Despite enrolling in a government school in Rurka Kalan, he struggled academically and frequently skipped classes. Garry Sandhu‘s educational journey took a setback when he failed his 10th standard and had to repeat it.
