Jongseob was born on November 19, 2005, in Paju, Gyeonggi, South Korea. He was born to Kim Young-jae and Kim Yeon-ju, both of whom have backgrounds in dance. His ethnicity is Korean and his religion is Christianity.
He grew up as an only child. Jongseob attended Munsan-dong Elementary School and Seonyu Middle School before leaving school and completing the middle-school and high-school graduation qualification examinations.
Career
Jongseob began pursuing music at a young age after becoming inspired by K-pop performances. In 2016, he entered K-pop Star 6: The Last Chance and won the competition as part of Boyfriend alongside Park Hyun-jin.
He subsequently joined YG Entertainment as a trainee and participated in YG Treasure Box, although he was eliminated during the competition.
Jongseob later signed with FNC Entertainment and became the youngest member, rapper, and dancer of P1Harmony. The group debuted on October 28, 2020, through the mini-album DISHARMONY: STAND OUT.
