Kate Miller-Heidke was born on November 16, 1981, in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, to parents Greg Heidke and Jenny Miller. She is one of three children, with two siblings whose names is not publicly known.
She attended St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School, graduating in 1998, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice from the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University.
She also studied at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She is of Caucasian origin, and her religion is Christianity.

Kate Miller-Heidke began her musical journey in 2002, releasing her first music and quickly becoming a fixture in Brisbane’s live scene.
She self-released early EPs such as Telegram (2004) and Circular Breathing (2006), building a grassroots following with her sharp, storytelling lyrics and classically trained voice.
In 2006, she signed with Sony Music Australia, a move that set the stage for her debut studio album, Little Eve, released in 2007.
The album was both a commercial and critical success, earning gold sales and four ARIA Award nominations, including Best Female Artist.
Her earliest work introduced a distinctive blend of pop songcraft and theatricality that would define her career.
