While in college, he started writing songs daily and performed with a band across the South to support himself.

After graduation, he worked briefly as a bartender, spent six months surfing and living simply in Hawaii, then moved to Nashville in the early 2000s to pursue songwriting. He spent nearly a decade honing his craft, co-writing for other artists before signing with MCA Nashville.

His 2012 debut album Up All Night produced the breakthrough hit “Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck” and established his signature style of honest, blue-collar country-rock.

Follow-up albums, including Wild Ones, Slowheart, Wild World, and Damn Love, delivered consistent fan favorites and strong touring draws.

He has written every song on his releases and drawn influence from Bruce Springsteen and Kris Kristofferson for vivid, real-life storytelling. In 2024, he signed a global deal with Virgin Music Group, marking a new creative chapter.

Kip Moore released his ambitious sixth studio album, Solitary Tracks, on 28 February 2025, an expansive 23-track project that showcases his continued growth as a songwriter and performer.
