He made his acting debut in Tantei Gakuen Q Special (2006) as Ryu Amakusa and reprised the role in the full series Tantei Gakuen Q (2007), which became a breakout role for him.

In 2007, he became a founding member of Hey! Say! JUMP, one of Japan’s most successful male idol groups, debuting under J Storm (Johnny’s Entertainment). The group’s debut single “Ultra Music Power” topped the Oricon charts.
