Before entering the music industry, Savanna devoted approximately seven years to gymnastics, including competitive training. She reached an advanced level before an elbow injury ended her plans of pursuing gymnastics professionally.
The experience nevertheless gave her discipline and physical conditioning that later served her well in dance and stage performance.
Her transition from intensive gymnastics training into A2K and professional artist development became the central focus of her teenage years. She later received extensive performance training through A2K and JYP Entertainment.
Career
Savanna began preparing for an entertainment career after an injury interrupted her gymnastics ambitions. Her gymnastics background gave her strong physical discipline, flexibility, and movement skills that later became central to her identity as a performer.
She subsequently pursued singing and dance before auditioning for A2K, the reality competition created by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records to form a global girl group.
During A2K in 2023, Savanna progressed through the programme’s demanding evaluation system. At the Los Angeles Boot Camp, she performed “O.O” by NMIXX during the dance evaluation and earned a Dance Stone.
She also demonstrated her versatility during the Star Quality evaluation by combining flute playing and gymnastics. Her performances eventually earned her the stones she needed to advance to the final stage.
In the show’s finale, Savanna placed fourth, securing a position in the newly created six-member group VCHA. The group released the pre-debut single “SeVit (New Light)” in September 2023, followed by its official debut single “Girls of the Year” in January 2024.
As a VCHA member, Savanna participated in music releases, promotional activities and performances. The group also opened for TWICE during portions of the Ready to Be world tour, expanding the members’ exposure to international audiences.
In August 2025, the remaining members of VCHA — Lexi, Camila, Kendall and Savanna — adopted the new group name GIRLSET after the departures of KG and Kaylee.
JYP Entertainment described the new name as representing the members’ intention to set their own path and pursue their potential in the global music market.
GIRLSET launched its new era in 2025 through the single “Commas“, followed by “Little Miss” in November. The group’s official JYP profile currently lists Savanna alongside Lexi, Camila, and Kendall as members of the quartet.
