Sydney Brooke Simpson was born in the United States on October 17, 1985. Her parents are Nicole Brown Simpson and O. J. Simpson. She is the granddaughter of Juditha Anne Brown, Louis Hezekiel Brown, Eunice Simpson, and Jimmy Lee Simpson. Her cousin is named Sean Brown.

Her mother, Nicole Brown Simpson, worked as a waitress, while her father, O. J. Simpson, was a professional football player who became an actor and an advertising consultant. 

A younger sibling of Sydney Brooke Simpson is Justin Ryan Simpson (born in 1988).
