Early Life

Dhanya Veena Nair was born on October 14, 1985, in Muthukulam, a village near Haripad in Alappuzha, Kerala. Mr Raju, a telecom employee, and Veena, a school teacher, are her parents. She excelled in school before pursuing a career in movies.

She began dancing at a young age, studied classical dance, and won the Kalathilakam title in the Alappuzha District School Youth Festival as a student of Bethany Balikamadam Girls High School, Nangiarkulangara, Haripad.

Navya attended MSM Higher Secondary School, Nangiarkulangara Elementary School, and Bethany Balikamadom High School.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in business administration.

Sibi Malayil wrote and directed Ishtam, an Indian romantic comedy-drama film in Malayalam released in 2001.

The major performers in the film are Dileep and Navya Nair, who are making their acting debut. Minor characters include Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Sreenivasan, and Jayasudha. Mohan Sitara wrote the music. Priyadarshan’s Hindi translation of Ishtam is Mere Baap Pehle Aap.
