Scott Raymond Adams was born to parents Paul Adams and Virginia Adams on June 8, 1957, in Windham, New York.

He is 66 years old as of 2023. He grew up in a small town and developed a passion for comics at a young age. Adams showed early artistic talent and began drawing comics as a child. His love for comics led him to win a drawing competition at 11.

Adams attended Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School, where he graduated as the valedictorian of his class. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Hartwick College.

Adams then pursued further education and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley.

Personal Life

Scott Adams has had two marriages in his life. He married S. Miles in 2006, but they later divorced in 2014. In 2020, he tied the knot with Kristina Basham, a model and baker.

However, they separated in 2022. Adams has been a stepfather to Miles’ children, Savannah and Justin, although tragically, Justin passed away in 2018 due to a fentanyl overdose.


In 2023, Scott Adams faced controversy when he made racist remarks during a livestream.

His comments led to Dilbert being dropped by numerous newspapers and its distributor, Andrews McMeel Syndication.


Scott Adams initially worked in various clerical roles before becoming a full-time cartoonist in 1995. While working at a telephone company in 1989, he created the Dilbert comic strip.

Dilbert gained national prominence and eventually reached a worldwide audience. The strip focuses on the social and psychological landscape of white-collar workers in modern corporations, providing a satirical commentary on office life.

Adams’ success grew, and he became a full-time cartoonist as Dilbert reached 800 newspapers. He has written several books on his cartoon strip, including “The Dilbert Principle” and “The Dilbert Future.”
