Early Life & Education

Rosanna Pansino was born on June 8, 1985, in Seattle, Washington, and grew up alongside her sister Molly Lu. She has Italian, Croatian, German, and Irish origins. 

Throughout her childhood, friends and family labeled her as a “nerdy” and “awkward” child, and she struggled with dyslexia in school. Her father named Papa Pizza died December while her mother name is Mamma Mia.

After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her ambition of becoming an actress.

Rosanna Pansino‘s interest in cooking was kindled by her father and grandmother. She stated in 2014, “One of my favorite activities has always been baking. I’ve always loved experimenting in the kitchen and making themed treats for my friends.” 

On December 17, 2019, Rosanna Pansino announced on her social media platforms that her father, who had appeared in several of her videos, had died of leukemia following a six-year fight.

Mike Lamond, better known as Husky, a former E-sports broadcaster who presently works with Rosanna Pansino on Nerdy Nummies, is her partner and husband. Rosanna Pansino revealed their romance in 2018. She revealed in her 2019 Valentine’s Day video that they have been dating for six years and have worked together for nine years.

After complaining of acute pain and illness, she was admitted to a local hospital in 2019. Later, it was discovered that she had contracted a potentially life-threatening bacterial infection, which was treated immediately. 

Her Twitter account was used to announce the news. She had her breast implants removed in February 2021, which she disclosed on her Instagram. In a YouTube video, Rosanna Pansino explained why she decided to remove her implants a year later.

Rosanna Pansino started her YouTube account in 2009 after being encouraged by a group of friends who had previously worked on YouTube. Following the success of her early baking videos, viewers began to demand more. 

After never seeing a baking show on television or the Internet, Rosanna Pansino decided to create the Nerdy Nummies series. Her agent forced her to choose between acting and YouTube in the early days of YouTube while she was still working as an actress.

She remained adamant that she would not quit YouTube, despite the risks being taken at the time. Rosanna Pansino told Cosmopolitan in 2015: ” At this point, I wasn’t making any money on YouTube. I knew it was possible to do that, but I wasn’t making a dime. I decided I was going to do this. I’m not going to let YouTube go.” She narrated.

Nerdy Nummies was an instant hit, bringing Rosanna Pansino international recognition and accolades. Her YouTube channel has almost 3 billion views, making it the most popular cooking channel on the platform.
