Andile Gaelesiwe was born on the 13th day of September in 1973.
She was born and raised in Soweto region of South Africa. Her father is Philemon Mofokeng.

Her interest in the non-profit coupled with her love for humanity led her to YFM to initiate a department called YCARES. As the director she touched major South African issues in the areas of HIV/Aids, youth development and entrepreneurship, education, and sexual violence.
In 2001, Andile Gaelesiwe was working at YFm when she heard a young woman call in and threaten to commit suicide because she had been sexually abused. This incident was a catalyst for Andile to speak out about her own abuse in the hopes of helping other young people seek treatment.
As a result, She was called upon to anchor the docu-reality show Khumbul’ekhaya, as she fit the description of the values the show seeks to display to viewers including courage to communicate and the strength to resolve and overcome family problems. She also started a program called Open Disclosure for sexual assault victims to come out and receive help.
Her most recent hosting gig came in 2019, where she was cast as the host of the South African couple’s reality show titled Before I Do, which helps South African couples deal with relationship challenges.
