Lori Greiner was born on December 9, 1969, and raised in Chicago’s Near North Side, United States. 

She was born to American parents David L. Husman and Lois Arlene Husman. She has a sister named Melinda Husman and a brother named Michael Husman.

Lori Greiner attended Loyola University Chicago, where she majored in communications, and as a student, she worked for The Chicago Tribune. She sold jewellery and had a brief career as a playwright. Her husband is Dan Greiner.


A plastic earring organizer was developed and patented by Lori Greiner in 1996. J.C. Before the holiday shopping season, Penney purchased the item, enabling her to pay off her $300,000 loan in 18 months. She has patented consumer goods in various categories, including organizing cosmetics, storing jewellery, travelling, electronics, and home goods. 

She succeeded with J.C. Penney Greiner and developed her business after seeing her product on Home Shopping Network and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Lori Greiner then switched to QVC, where she introduced one of the network’s longest-running shows, Clever & Unique Creations, in 2000.

Lori Greiner joined the American television program Shark Tank in 2012. Her investment in Scrub Daddy, a firm that makes a household sponge with a variable texture, was recognized as one of the greatest achievements in Shark Tank history in 2014. 

She also invested early in Bantam Bagels, ReadeRest, Paint Brush Cover, Hold Your Haunches, Drop Stop, FiberFix, Simply Fit Board, Sleep Styler, and Screenmend. In 2014, T. Marzetti Company fully acquired Bantam Bagels. 

Lori Greiner published the how-to book Invent it, Sell it, Bank it! – Make Your Million Dollar Idea into a Reality in March 2014, drawing on her experience as an entrepreneur.
