Early Life

Achraf Hakimi Mouh was born to Moroccan parents on the 4th of November 1998. He is the first child of Mr. Hassan Hakimi and Mrs. Saida Mouh. Before his birth, his parents had emigrated from Morocco to Europe. The Mouth family took up residence in Spain. He spent his formative years growing up in Madrid City, where his parents worked blue-collar jobs to provide for the family. 

Achraf Hakimi is from a close-knit traditional family who is originally from Northwestern Morocco. He was born into a Muslim household and raised in the same faith. Hakimi had a middle-class upbringing in Madrid City. During childhood, his father worked as a street vendor while his mother worked as a cleaner. Achraf Hakimi‘s journey to becoming a professional footballer began when he secured a place with Real Madrid’s Youth Academy. In 2016, he began playing for the club Real Madrid Castilla. His debut game was at the 2016 International Champions Cup against Paris Saint-Germain. The match ended with a 3-1 loss to the French side. After a year, he was promoted to the first team. 

Shortly after, Achraf Hakimi was sent on a two-year loan deal to Borussia Dortmund in July 2018. He scored his first goal for the club in a 7-0 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg on the 27th of September 2018. He helped the Bundesliga club to win the DFL Supercup in 2019. He appeared in a total of 54 matches for Borussia Dortmund and scored seven goals during his time at the club.

On the 6th of July 2021, Achraf Hakimi was signed by the Ligue 1 Club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He joined the French club on a five-year contract for a reported fee of €71 million. He debuted for the club on the 7th of August and scored his first goal against Troyes. During his first season at PSG, he won the Ligue 1 title, his second league title in a row. On the 14th of February, 2023, he was nominated for the 2022 FIFA FIFPRO World 11.
