Sofyan Amrabat, a professional football prodigy, entered this world on August 21, 1996, in the picturesque town of Huizen in the Netherlands. Born to Moroccan parents, his father goes by the name of Mohammed Amrabat, while unfortunately, his mother’s name remains undisclosed. 

Growing up alongside his brother, Nordin Amrabat, Sofyan Amrabat‘s upbringing was undoubtedly filled with sibling camaraderie and shared experiences.

Career

Sofyan Amrabat‘s football journey began at Utrecht’s youth system in 2007, following his early days at HSV De Zuidvogels. After years of hard work, his senior debut for Utrecht arrived on November 2, 2014.

In 2017, he joined Feyenoord, and his four-year contract came with a €4 million transfer fee paid to Utrecht. In 2018, Sofyan Amrabat moved to Club Brugge, and Feyenoord received €2.5 million. He went on loan to Hellas Verona in 2019.

In January 2020, Hellas Verona exercised their option to buy Sofyan Amrabat from Club Brugge for €3.5 million but quickly sold him to Fiorentina for €20 million, with the possibility of an additional €1.5 million in add-ons.

Despite the transfer to Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat continued to play on loan for Hellas Verona until the end of the 2019–2020 season. His performances earned him Hellas Verona’s Player of the Season award in July 2020.

On September 26, 2020, Sofyan Amrabat first appeared for Fiorentina in a 4-3 match against Inter Milan. He continued to impress, playing the full duration of Fiorentina’s intense 2-1 loss to West Ham United in the final of the 2023 UEFA Europa League.

His senior debut for the Morocco national team came on March 28, 2017, in a 1-0 friendly victory against Tunisia. Sofyan Amrabat was then part of Morocco’s 23-man 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.

Enzo Bucchioni, a reliable source, has disclosed that the talks are centered around a loan offer that includes a mandatory purchase clause worth €27 million. This suggests that Manchester United is keen on securing Amrabat‘s services permanently after an initial loan period.

On the 1st of September, 2023, Sofyan Amrabat‘s deal to join Manchester United was said to be concluded, which means he is a Manchester United player on a loan deal.
