Roberto Carlos is a retired football player from Brazil. He was born on April 10, 1973, in Garça, São Paulo. His parents are Oscar da Silva and Vera Lucia da Silva.

Career

Roberto Carlos started his career at União São João in Brazil’s lower leagues. He moved to Palmeiras in 1993. At Palmeiras, he won two Brazilian Série A titles in 1993 and 1994. He quickly became a great left-back.

In 1995, he transferred to Inter Milan. However, he had trouble adjusting to the team. He played one season, appearing in 30 matches and scoring 5 goals. He left Inter Milan because the tactics did not fit his style. Then, he joined Real Madrid for $6 million. At Real Madrid, he became a key player during the famous “Galácticos” era.

Roberto Carlos played 584 matches in total. He scored 71 goals and made many assists. He was known for his powerful runs and skillful set-pieces.
