In 2011, he moved to the House of Representatives, representing Alimosho Federal Constituency, where he chaired the House Committee on Public Accounts.

In 2019, Adeola was elected to the Senate representing Ogun West Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that required him to defend his Yewa-Awori roots despite being born and raised in Lagos. As a senator, he has chaired the Senate Committee on Finance and currently chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
He is widely credited with sponsoring over 100 bills, including the Nigeria Start-up Bill (which became the Nigeria Start-up Act 2022), the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals Bill, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Imeko Bill.
In 2024, he was conferred with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s impact on Nigerian governance is defined by his mastery of the budget process and his grassroots political structure known as the “Yayi Mandate,” a self-funded empowerment machinery that distributes educational materials, financial grants, and medical support to thousands of constituents annually.
Despite not being the original frontrunner in Ogun West politics, he built a political dynasty through consistent constituency engagement rather than godfatherism.
Later-stage contributions include pushing for the creation of Yewa State (proposed from Ogun State) and deepening his role as a fiscal gatekeeper in the National Assembly.
His ability to maintain a separate political identity while remaining within the APC structure is considered one of the most remarkable political feats in contemporary South-West Nigeria.
