 George William Russell was born on March 15, 1998, in the charming town of King’s Lynn in Norfolk, England. He was fortunate to have his loving parents, Steve Russell and Alison Russell, by his side as a child. 

George had a wonderful childhood filled with love and support from his family, including his two siblings, Benjy Russell and Cara Russell. His education began at the prestigious Wisbech Grammar School, where he embarked on his academic journey.

Career

 Russell’s karting journey started in 2006, and by 2009, he had already moved up from the cadet class. That same year, he achieved the prestigious MSA British and Open Champions titles. His success in karting continued as he went on to win various championships, such as the CIK-FIA European Karting Championship in 2012.

Russell entered his first single-seater race in 2014, competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps championship. He secured three victories throughout the season and achieved a commendable fourth place overall in the championship standings. Additionally, Russell participated in two rounds of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship.

 Russell participated in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship 2014 with Lanan Racing, the reigning champions. He achieved remarkable success by securing the championship title through four victories and 12 podium finishes. As a reward for his outstanding performance, Russell was allowed to test a GP3 car with Arden Motorsport at the prestigious Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

 In 2017, Russell transitioned to the GP3 Series as a member of the ART Grand Prix. Despite being a rookie, he showcased his immense talent and determination by clinching the championship title.
