Early Life

Pitso Mosimane is a proud Krugersdorp native, born and raised in the vibrant township of Kagiso on July 26, 1964. His passion for football started at a tender age, and it wasn’t long before he set his sights on becoming a professional footballer.

After that, he became an assistant coach to Bruce Grobbelaar at Supersport United before eventually taking over as head coach from 2001 to 2007.

During his time at Supersport United, Pitso Mosimane led the team to two second-place finishes in the Premier Soccer League, cementing his status as one of South Africa’s top coaches. His big break came when he was named the caretaker coach of the South African national team, Bafana Bafana, for seven games in 2007.
