Samantha Stosur, a professional tennis player, hails from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where she was born on March 30, 1984. Her parents, Tony Stosur (father) and Diane Stosur (mother), raised her alongside her two brothers, Dominic and Daniel. 

Samantha‘s Polish background may be traced back to her paternal grandpa. Unfortunately, when she was six, a severe flood destroyed their Gold Coast family home and company, forcing them to travel to Adelaide for a fresh start. 

Samantha Stosur went to Helensvale State High Schoolthe Queensland Academy of Sport, and the Australian Institute of Sport before becoming a professional tennis player.

Career

In 2005, Samantha Stosur had a breakthrough year, snagging her first two WTA titles in singles and doubles. She also made a memorable run to the Australian Open mixed doubles event finals, teaming up with Scott Draper.

The following year was even more remarkable. Stosur clinched her first two Grand Slam titles in doubles at the French Open and US Open alongside Lisa Raymond. On top of that, she was impressed in singles, reaching the Australian Open semifinals and the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
