Street dealers in the Aboki market quoted the US dollar at roughly ₦1,372 to ₦1,375 when buying cash from customers and ₦1,382 to ₦1,390 when selling on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, across Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt.

A person handing over $100 would therefore receive about ₦137,200–₦137,500, while someone needing the same amount of dollars would pay close to ₦138,200–₦139,000. The official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate published by the Central Bank of Nigeria stayed near ₦1,330 to ₦1,331 per dollar, leaving a street premium of roughly ₦50 to ₦60, or a little over 4 percent.

Demand from importers, travellers and students remained orderly rather than frantic, with external reserves still reported above $54 billion and oil receipts continuing to support official liquidity. Quotes still differed a little by location, volume and the hour of the day, and operators warned that the informal rate can shift before the close of business.

The gap between the official window and the parallel market has stayed comparatively tight by recent historical standards, yet cash transactions outside the banking system remain the practical benchmark for many users who cannot obtain dollars at the CBN rate.

Anyone planning to change money was advised to confirm the live figure with a trusted bureau or dealer, because parallel-market prices are not fixed and can move on local supply and remittance inflows.
