Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 3rd September 2026

The parallel market, widely known in Nigeria as the Aboki or black-market window, opened Thursday, 3 September 2026, with the US dollar trading in a tight band around ₦1,390 to ₦1,410 depending on city, dealer and transaction size.

Trackers compiling quotes from bureau-de-change operators in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt put the typical street sell rate near ₦1,410, meaning a buyer of dollars would pay that amount in naira for one greenback, while dealers were offering to purchase dollars from the public at about ₦1,400.

Other monitors published slightly softer figures. One platform listed a buy rate of ₦1,395 and a sell rate of ₦1,390, describing a modest 0.13 percent easing of the dollar against the naira over the previous 24 hours. Another, drawing directly from licensed BDC desks, reported operators buying at ₦1,391.62 and selling at ₦1,396.39 as of mid-morning West Africa Time.

The official Central Bank of Nigeria window remained lower. NAFEM and related official quotes clustered between roughly ₦1,324.50 and ₦1,329, leaving a premium of about 5 to 6 percent on the informal market. That gap is narrower than the wide spreads seen in earlier years of forex scarcity, yet it still matters for importers, travellers and households that cannot access bank allocations.

At these levels, $100 would cost about ₦140,000–₦141,000 on the street, while $1,000 would require roughly ₦1.40 million to ₦1.41 million. Rates can still differ by a few naira from one trader to the next, and larger cash deals sometimes attract a small discount.

The naira’s recent official-market gains have not fully closed the parallel gap, so demand for physical dollars and informal transfers continues to set the Aboki price that most ordinary users actually pay.
