Actress Dayo Amusa Slams Bobrisky’s ‘Best Dressed Female’ Win

Nollywood star Dayo Amusa has expressed dissatisfaction with recognizing popular crossdresser Bobrisky as the ‘Best Dressed Female‘ at a recent movie premiere.

The event, which took place in Lagos over the weekend, saw Bobrisky walking away with the coveted title and a cash prize of N1 million. However, Amusa has criticized the decision, deeming it a mockery of the women present at the event.

In a video message shared on her Instagram account, Amusa voiced her disapproval, stating, “I cannot imagine the judges disrespecting every woman that was there. You had to pick a winner, a female best dressed, and a male best dressed, and you watered the efforts of all the women at the event by giving the best-dressed female to a crossdresser.”

She further added, “If you feel you want to honor crossdressers, you should have created their own category instead of disrespecting women by giving a crossdresser the best-dressed female award.”

Bobrisky‘s win at the premiere of “Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds” garnered significant attention, with the personality stealing the spotlight on the red carpet. Dressed in a stunning black sequined gown, Bobrisky‘s appearance captivated the crowd and earned her the esteemed title.

However, Bobrisky‘s recognition has sparked controversy due to Nigeria’s laws prohibiting transgender identity and LGBTQ+ rights. Amusa’s critique echoes the sentiments of many, questioning the decision to award a crossdresser over other female attendees.
