X Faces Outage: ‘Welcome to your timeline’ Message Frustrates Users

Microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, encountered a significant technical issue on Thursday morning around 11 am, leaving users unable to access regular tweets. The website and mobile application displayed a message saying ‘Welcome to your timeline‘ instead of the usual feed content. The widespread outage affected a large number of users, with over 70,000 reports logged on Downdetector.

Currently, no information is available on the cause of this disruption. The outage marks a recurring challenge for X, owned by Elon Musk. Similar incidents of downtime were reported in March and July earlier this year. In the July outage, Downdetector recorded over 13,000 instances of X inaccessible in the US and the UK. Users received a message stating, “Sorry, you are rate-limited. Please wait a few moments, then try again.”

The March 6 outage lasted several hours, during which users experienced difficulties accessing links, images, and videos. Many reported the website being slower than usual, impacting thousands of users in various regions.

X has yet to provide an official statement regarding the recent outage. The recurrence of technical glitches raises concerns among users about the platform’s stability and reliability. As X grapples with these challenges, users await updates on the resolution and measures to prevent future disruptions.
