Levin began his career as a labor and human rights attorney. He served as a staff attorney to the U.S. House Committee on Education and Labor and later worked for the AFL-CIO.
From 2007 to 2010, he was appointed Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, where he helped expand green job initiatives. He also founded a clean energy nonprofit, Lean & Green Michigan.
In 2018, Levin was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan’s 9th congressional district, succeeding his father. He served from 2019 to 2023 and was a member of the House Education and Labor Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee.b
