Ben Affleck (born 15 August 1972), originally known as Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt, is a well-known American actor and director. He is also a screenwriter and producer. He made his acting debut when he was very young by playing the lead in teleseries like The Voyage of the Mimi.

During High school, when Ben Affleck first met Matt Damon, his co-star, and best friend, with whom he co-wrote the script for the most successful film of his career, Good Will Hunting. For the scriptwriting, they shared a Golden Globe and an Oscar. 

In films like Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Sum of All Fears, Changing Lanes, Smokin’ Aces, Gigli, He’s Just Not That Into You, Extract, Forces of Nature, etc., Ben Affleck has played a variety of roles. With the film Gone Baby Gone, he made his directorial debut.

His direction of Argo earned him a Golden Globe and a BAFTA. He was cast as Batman in the 2016 Batman series season. In addition to The Accountant, The Way Back, Gone Girl, and the action-adventure Triple Frontier, he has starred in those films.

Early Life & Education

Christopher Anne Boldt (mother) and Timothy Byers Affleck (father) welcomed Ben Affleck into the world on August 15, 1972. Before settling on a career as a photographer, his father tried his hand at various jobs. In Cambridge, Massachusetts, his mother worked as an educator. 

His younger brother Casey Affleck, who also works in film, is an actor. 

His parents split formally in 1984, shortly after they had already divorced before his birth. Ben Affleck and his siblings relocated to Massachusetts following the divorce. 

He has always been passionate about performing and has taken on minor roles like participating in Burger King commercials. He was cast in the 1984 PBS miniseries The Voyage of the Mimi. The crew of the Mini was shown exploring the ocean in the science program. 

Ben Affleck met Matt Damon, his co-star, co-writer, and close friend, while a Cambridge Rindge and Latin School student. Matt Damon was two years older than him.
