Early life and education
Dhyan Sreenivasan was born on December 20, 1988, in Kuthuparamba, Kannur district, Kerala. He is the son of late Malayalam actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Sreenivasan and his wife, Vimala Sreenivasan.
He is the younger of their two sons and the younger brother of Vineeth Sreenivasan, who is also an actor, singer, screenwriter and director.
Dhyan grew up in a family deeply connected to Malayalam cinema. His father’s career as an actor and writer and his brother’s emergence as a filmmaker exposed him to the industry from an early age.
His uncle is filmmaker M. Mohanan, further adding to his family’s connection to Malayalam filmmaking.
He initially pursued engineering, but did not complete the course. He later studied visual communication, reflecting his growing interest in filmmaking and the creative side of cinema.
