Sheldon Bailey was born on May 26, 1983, at a U.S. Army hospital in Germany to Jamaican-American parents. Because his father served in the military, Sheldon spent his childhood moving between different locations before the family eventually settled in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
He developed a passion for both basketball and performance at a young age and began acting in eighth grade, later earning Thespian and academic honors in high school.
Sheldon attended Mt. Zion Christian Academy, where he developed into a highly regarded basketball player and was ranked among the nation’s top young players. He received a Division I athletic scholarship to Winthrop University before transferring to Florida International University, where he graduated in Political Science.

Career
After college, Sheldon pursued professional basketball, playing in countries including China, Taiwan, and Ecuador, plus competing in the American Basketball Association and Chinese Basketball Association. His basketball career eventually brought him to Los Angeles, where he began pursuing acting and commercial opportunities.
He later became a prominent NBA body double, portraying or standing in for players such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O’Neal, and Dwight Howard in commercials and other productions.
His acting career gained major momentum after his role as Kenyatta on Shameless, followed by appearances in Hand of God, Castle, NCIS, The Mindy Project, Game Shakers, Henry Danger, Animal Kingdom, Bel-Air, and Clipped. In Game Shakers, he played Ruthless from 2015 to 2019.
