Throughout the first seven months of U.S. President Donald Trump’s presidency, he was the chief strategist in the White House.

He was previously the executive chairman of Breitbart News and a member of the board of Cambridge Analytica, a now-defunct data analytics company.

Early Life And Education

Steve Kelvin Bannon was born on November 27, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia, United States and born to the family of  Mr. Martin J. Bannon Jr., an AT&T telephone lineman and middle manager, and Mrs. Doris Herr Bannon, a stay-at-home mom.  

Steve Bannon graduated in 1971 from Richmond, Virginia’s private Catholic Benedictine College Preparatory and then proceeded to Virginia Tech. He presided over the student government association as president and worked during the summers at a nearby junkyard.

Steve Bannon received a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies in 1976. In 1983, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service awarded him a master’s degree in national security studies while he was still in the Navy. Bannon graduated from Harvard Business School in 1985 with honors, having completed his Master of Business Administration program.

Career

Steve Bannon started his career in the U.S. Navy in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Bannon was a surface warfare officer in the Pacific Fleet aboard the destroyer USS Paul F. Foster. He later served as the chief of naval operations’ special assistant at the Pentagon. Among his duties at the Pentagon were preparing reports on the condition of the Navy fleet worldwide and managing communications between senior leaders.

Steve Bannon, after serving in the military, was also employed by Goldman Sachs as an investment banker in the department of mergers and acquisitions following his time in the armed forces. In order to help Goldman increase their profile in the entertainment sector, he moved from New York to Los Angeles in 1987. After serving in this capacity for two years under Goldman in Los Angeles, he was promoted to vice president. 

Steve Bannon made his foray into the entertainment and media sectors in the 1990s, rising to the position of executive producer in the Hollywood film and media industry. Bannon produced eighteen movies, including Julie Taymor’s Titus (1999) and Sean Penn’s drama The Indian Runner (1991). In 2002 and 2003, Bannon worked as an executive with The Firm, Inc., a film and television management company, where he partnered with Jeff Kwatinetz, an entertainment industry executive.

Steve Bannon produced the Ronald Reagan documentary In the Face of Evil in 2004. Bannon met publisher Andrew Breitbart and author Peter Schweizer during the film’s production and distribution. Breitbart and Schweizer referred to Bannon as the Leni Riefenstahl of the Tea Party movement.

Personal Life

Bannon has three marriages and three divorces under his belt. He is blessed with three daughters, Maureen Bannon, Emily Piccard, and Grace Piccard; he wed Cathleen Suzanne Houff. In 1988, Bannon and Houff were divorced and had a daughter named Maureen.

In April 1995, Bannon wed Mary Louise Piccard, a former investment banker, for the second time. Three years after the wedding, their twin children were born. In 1997, Piccard filed for their marital divorce.

Model Diane Clohesy was Bannon’s third spouse; they wed in 2006 and separated in 2009. However, he seems to be still single, and his current relationship is unknown to the media.
