Early Life

Dexcute Icons was birthed into the Southwestern family of Mr. and Mrs. Abiola. He was born on the 14th of February, 1994, in a public-run medical center in Ibadan City, Oyo State. Eight days after the birth of Dexcute Icons, a naming ceremony was held by his parents to celebrate his arrival into the world. The ceremony was well-attended by extended family members and well-wishers of the Abiola family. Clerics officiated the naming ceremony, and he was given the name Kolawole Idris Abiola. 

Dexcute Icons has Yoruba ancestry both on his father’s and mother’s sides. He is an Indigene of Oyo State and was raised in Ibadan, the state’s capital city. He comes from a close-knit Muslim family of five. He has two siblings – Kehinde Abiola and Olaide Abiola. He was raised in the Muslim faith and attended an Islamic school during his childhood and teenage years. 

Dexcute Icons was a popular student in secondary school because of his artistic gifts. He was a prominent member of the Drama Club during his senior secondary school days and was known for cracking his schoolmates up with funny jokes. Thus, he dropped his official debut single, Why, in May 2022. So far, the song has done great numbers on local music charts and has received good airplay on many radio stations in southwest Nigeria. The success of Why has helped Dexcute Icons become popular in the southwestern music community.
