Early life and education
Kevian Kraemer was born on March 23, 2006, 20, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, United States, and grew up in the New Jersey shore community.
His family environment exposed him to music early, and his childhood in Asbury Park put him close to a local music scene that later became central to his development.
Kevian Kraemer was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kraemer and grew up alongside two older siblings. His ethnicity is American, and his religion is Christianity.
He began his musical education at Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park, where he initially took drum lessons. He later expanded his abilities to guitar, piano, saxophone, bass, and ukulele. Guitar eventually became his primary instrument, while the academy also gave him opportunities to develop as a musician and session player.
During high school, Kraemer began writing and recording his own material using GarageBand. He attended Manasquan High School and graduated in June 2024.
Rather than immediately pursuing another academic field, he increasingly focused on developing his songwriting, production, recording, and live-performance abilities.
Before fully committing to music, he considered studying marine biology or law and playing college soccer. His growing audience for covers and original songs eventually convinced him to pursue music and artistry professionally.
Career
Kevian Kraemer began his public musical journey by posting cover performances on Instagram, initially attracting attention for his guitar performances.
A cover of “Harmless” by Swing Lynn became particularly successful online, encouraging him to release original material. His first self-released songs included “Rug,” “Sweater,” and “Buddy.”
His breakthrough arrived in 2024, when a snippet of “Fly” gained major attention on TikTok and generated nearly 2 million global streams.
He subsequently released his debut EP, Seventeen, on March 29, 2024. The six-track project featured “Attention,” which became his breakout song and accumulated millions of worldwide streams.
Kevian Kraemer first released music under Elektra before moving to Atlantic Records. His major-label period brought a succession of releases, including “Dopamine,” “Rearview,” “Don’t You Dare,” “Tan Lines,” and “wannabe!” His 2025 EP, Jersey or Mars, explored themes of leaving home, changing relationships, nostalgia, and the uncertainty surrounding adulthood.
The Jersey or Mars era also produced his first headline tour, taking him to cities including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Asbury Park. The tour included a sold-out performance at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City and helped the young singer-songwriter build a larger live audience.
In 2026, Kevian Kraemer released his third EP, only if it matters, featuring songs such as “i just get worse,” “you woke me up,” “does it still mean something?,” “Dopamine,” “Rearview,” and “Don’t You Dare.” He subsequently released “hit and run” in August 2026, continuing his work under Atlantic Records.
His songwriting is strongly rooted in personal experiences. For Only If It Matters, he drew on relationships, friendship, moving to Los Angeles, emotional changes, and encounters from his young adult life. His musical influences include Frank Ocean, The Strokes, The Backseat Lovers, Laufey, Wallows, Aiden Bissett, and Rex Orange County.
