Early Life And Education

Join the Band was established in 2011 by Braeden Lemasters, Cole Preston, and Dylan Minnette while they were all students at the Keyboard Galleria Music Center in Southern California. 

 They started a group named Feaver with Zack Mendenhall on bass, and they even had the chance to play on the 2011 Warped Tour. However, once Mendenhall left the Band, they adopted The Narwhals as their new moniker before settling on Wallows in 2017.

As teenagers, Braeden Lemasters (guitar/vocals), Cole Preston (guitar/drums), and Dylan Minnette (guitar/vocals) formed Join the Band with Zack Mendenhall. (bass). They were GigMasterz students at Southern California’s Keyboard Galleria Music Center. 

They changed their name to Feaver and participated in the 2011 Warped Tour. After Mendenhall quit the Band, they also went by The Narwhals until deciding on Wallows in 2017.

Career

Wallows collaborated with Atlantic Records in 2018, setting the path for releasing their first EP under a major record label, “Spring.” The Band continues on their musical adventure, delighting fans with the release of their debut studio album “Nothing Happens” in 2019. 

Popular songs on this album included “Are You Bored Yet?” Their next project was an EP called “Remote,” released in 2020. Wallows’ impressive success has led to the publication of their second album, “Tell Me That It’s Over,” in 2022.

Wallows has received accolades for its 80s-influenced sound, including post-punk, synth pop, power pop, and more grounded contemporary bedroom pop. They’ve been likened to The Strokes, The 1975, and The Neighbourhood.
