Dennis Junior Odunwo (born September 1, 1993), addressed professionally as Tion Wayne, is a popular British rapper and songwriter of Nigerian ancestry.

Early Life & Education

Tion Wayne was born on the 1st of September in 1993. In the North London Borough of Enfield, Edmonton is where he was born. 

He comes from Nigerian parents. Computer engineering was Tion Wayne‘s father’s occupation, and nursing was his mom’s. Going with his surname Odunwo means he belongs to the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, and his ancestry can be traced to the southwestern part of Nigeria.

He wanted to become an accountant and is the middle child. In 2009, he was a student at Enfield Grammar School.

Career

Tion Wayne established himself in the music industry in 2010 after uploading several tracks to YouTube. In 2014, he released Wayne’s World, his debut mixtape. He gradually started gaining a devoted following. By 2016, he had backed musicians like Ghanaian Sarkodie and American rapper Rick Ross.

Wayne’s World Vol. 2, his next mixtape, was also made available that year. In 2017, his Transition EP was released.

Early in 2019, when he appeared on the London-based band NSG‘s track Options, which reached number seven, Tion Wayne made his UK Singles Chart debut. In 2019, he also distributed Wayne’s World 3.

His collaboration with fellow British rapper Russ Millions on Keisha & Becky also made it to the UK top 10, peaking at number seven. The single Keisha & Becky remix highlighted Aitch, JAY1, Sav’O, and Swarmz.

Tion Wayne was included in the song Houdini by rapper KSI and vocalist and rapper Swarmz in 2020. The song’s UK Singles Chart peak was at position six. Soon after, he dropped the single I Dunno with Dutchavelli and Stormzy, which peaked at number seven in the UK top 10. 

Body, Tion Wayne, and Russ Millions‘ second joint single was released in 2021. On April 22, a remix was made available. The song became the first drill song from the UK to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart when it peaked at number one.

He also had a single, Wild It, which featured sensational rapper, ArrDee.

Tion Wayne was one of the performers who had been DJing at the club when there was a fight on March 4th, 2017, in Clifton, Bristol. More than 100 individuals took part in the fight. 

On November 9 at Bristol Crown Court, sentences for Tion Wayne and three other men were handed down. He received a 16-month sentence. 

Aboard November 17, 2020, Tion Wayne and rapper Headie One got into a fight on a flight from Dubai to London, which rapper Morrisson attempted to break up shortly after takeoff.
