Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (born October 22, 1971), often addressed as Kodali Nani, is a renowned Indian politician. 

He serves as the MLA for the Gudivada Assembly constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. 

Kodali Nani served as the state of Andhra Pradesh’s previous Minister of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. He is a member of the YSR Congress.

Early Life & Education

Kodali Sri Venkateswara, popularly known as Kodali Nani, was born on October 22nd, 1971, in Perambaluru, Andhra Pradesh, India, to Arjun Rao. 

He has four brothers, Kodali Venkata Siva Rao, Kodali Venkata Ramana Rao, Kodali Srihari Rao, and Kodali Raghava Rao. 

Growing up, life wasn’t rosy for Kodali Nani because he struggled to achieve some of the things his parents could not afford. For example, he didn’t have his friends’ latest gadgets or clothes. This made him an underdog among his peers.

However, Kodali Nani didn’t let this stop him from achieving his goals. He worked hard in school and eventually got a scholarship to college. 

Despite his challenges growing up, Kodali Nani proves that anyone can overcome adversity and achieve their goals. Kodali Nani completed his early education at ZPHS Perambaluru and later attended DNR College, Bhimavaram, for his Intermediate. 

Kodali Nani earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, and later obtained his Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

Career

Kodali Nani is a politician from the Gudivada constituency in Andhra Pradesh, India. He started his political career in 2004 when he ran for and won a seat in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was re-elected in 2009 and again in 2014. In 2019, he became a Cabinet of Andhra Pradesh member, serving as the Minister of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. 

As Minister, Kodali Nani oversees two departments responsible for ensuring that every citizen in the state has access to necessities like food and shelter. His department also provides public health services, including subsidized foods for pregnant women and children. 

Kodali Nani comes from a family with deep roots in agriculture; all five family members have worked on their farm since they were old enough to work. He first became interested in politics while attending an engineering college, participating in student activism, and joining many student groups.
