Laura Ikeji, a bonafide Lagosian, came into the world on the 15th of March 1988 and was born into a bustling household of six. The family consists of five sisters, Sandra Ikeji, Edna Ikeji, Vera Ikeji Shilobod, Linda Ikeji, and Benita Ikeji, and one brother, Peks Ikeji, with her as the third child. She originally hails from Nkwerre, Imo State, Nigeria.

Her sister Linda Ikeji is a prolific writer and blogger known to have amassed a fortune through her writings. The Ikeji family patriarch goes by the name of Ikeji, though their mother remains shrouded in mystery.
