 In 1920, Howard Hughes briefly attended the Thacher School in Ojai, California. In 1922, he enrolled at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California. He studied math and aeronautical engineering at Caltech for two years.

Career

Howard Hughes embarked on his career in the film industry, leveraging the substantial inheritance he received from his accomplished oil-drilling father. With this financial backing, he successfully produced several acclaimed movies, such as The Racket (1928), Hell’s Angels (1930), and Scarface (1932). Additionally, Hughes expanded his influence by acquiring the RKO Pictures film studio in 1948.

During the 1940s, Howard Hughes shifted his attention to aviation and established the renowned Hughes Aircraft Company. This company soon evolved into a prominent defence contractor. Furthermore, Hughes achieved several remarkable feats in aviation, such as setting a world record for circumnavigating the globe in 1938.
